I have been playing guitar for about 16 months and i really want to learn to play solos, i am starting to practice scales but i want to know some easy but yet challenging (if that makes any sense) solos for me to start practicing.

I am thinking about buying a guitar, i’ve never been in lessons or had guidance before…I have been playing my friend’s guitar and I learned how to play Taylor Swift’s Love Story.
Anyways, what brand guitar would you recommend? I am looking on ebay, craigslist, etc. I would like it to not be super expensive, but with good quality…?

My boyfriend wants an electric guitar. I’m hoping to find a beautiful blue one that has nice sound and is good to learn on, that will grow with him, in terms of him getting better. He is a beginner, but I don’t want to buy him a cheapo crappo guitar. I’d like to spend somewhere between $300 and $700. I’ve been looking at some more in the $700 range, but should probably not spend that much. Any suggestions?
I was looking at http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Plus-Top-Electric-Guitar-518341-i1149990.gc that one because people seemed to really like it but that’s where i got the $700 from. The blue one is gourg and I’ve read it’s a great guitar for the price. What would be a step or two down from that?

I’m 15 years old and I want to learn how to play the guitar, and I’m planning on taking lessons. Is it too late to start learning? What are the basics of learning guitar? What kind of guitar do I buy when starting? I’ve played piano for the last 5 years but I quit because I’ve lost interest and I didn’t practice. However, I been listening to alot of guitar pieces and I’m really interested. Is guitar, like piano for me, one of those instruments that gets boring after a while?

I’ve been learning on an electric guitar and I’m looking for an acoustic now. I’ve had trouble in the past with acoustic because the body is so big and I have a hard time wrapping my arms around it.
Are there good quality acoustic guitars that are easier for girls to play? Price is not an issue and I’d rather stick to the well known brands.

The place where I’m learning to play acoustic guitar offers two styles. Rock/pop/jazz and classical. Which should I take? I’ve never played guitar but I’ve been playing piano for five years now, if that makes a difference. Also, what’s an example of a classical song for the guitar and what’s an example of a rock, pop, or jazz song for the guitar?

I want to give my guitar a heavy metal sound so I can play songs from bands like
-Slayer
-Metallica
-Megadeth
But on my cheap fender i can’t get my guitar to sound like anything other than a tin can. (Even with max distortion it sounds too high pitched and very whiny. Its hard to explain.) Any reccommendations?
