How can I teach myself how to play the guitar?

Has anyone recorded the song tracks without the guitar audio? I noticed that when the correct buttons are not pushed during play the guitar track audio is not played. This is perfect to have the real band vocals, bass and drums to to player your real guitar along with. Kinda like karaoke for guitar. I searched the net for months with no success.
